Robert Scoble is a Silicon Valley native and tech maverick best known for his blog, Scobleizer, which came to fame during his tenure as a technology evangelist at Microsoft. His blog was particularly controversial because while it showcased Microsoft’s products in a good light, it also praised product designs and functionality from competitors like Google and Apple. He was also surprisingly open to his followers, publishing his cell phone number and urging customers to contact him directly with comments regarding Microsoft’s products. As a result, he gained popularity, becoming nothing short of a “geek” celebrity with a massive amount of followers reading his blog religiously.

Scoble also co-authored Naked Conversations: How Blogs are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers with Shel Israel. The book insightfully showcases how blogging and bloggers are changing the way businesses relate to customers by creating a 2-way communication channel. Scoble (@Scobleizer) was crowned as one of the top 5 most influential Twitter users with almost 300K followers. Scoble tweets about technology news, videos, opinions, and interviews with more than 3,200 technology inspirations.

Currently, Scoble is partnering with Rackspace, an IT hosting company, to develop Building 43, a new content and social networking site. Join the SFAMA on August 21st, as Scoble presents his views on Modern Brand Warfare. Get tickets here.
