Co-Vice President of Sponsorships
Finding the right sponsors for our events and programs is essential to what we do as an organization. Sponsors help to further our mission and promote professional learning, career development and networking opportunities to the local Bay Area marketing community.
As the Co-VP of Sponsorships for AMA SF, you will help identify and connect AMA SF to the right companies in the Bay Area, big and small, and demonstrate the value an AMA sponsorship can bring to their organization. With over 9,000 marketing professionals in our database and a large base of followers in our social networks, we are a great partner and ally for companies that wish to reach Bay Area marketers, giving legitimacy to their message.
You will build on the relationships we currently have and develop new ones, while building your own team of professionals, who will assist you in this endeavor.
We are looking for a creative, proactive, and self-driven professional with selling experience that is not afraid of trying new things, while applying best practices to our sponsorship processes.
Vice President of Membership
AMA SF is membership-based, so maintaining and growing our membership is critical to the health of the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for addressing member attrition and increasing overall membership, including testing member-get-member initiatives. You will develop programs and communications to connect with current members on a regular basis, keeping them engaged with the chapter and informed about chapter news and opportunities. Explore corporate membership opportunities by identifying companies that would be a potential fit for group or corporate membership and develop strategies for converting potential group/corporate memberships. Attend and follow-up on chapter events (currently virtual) for member recruiting purposes.
Vice President of Collegiate Outreach
AMA SF not only serves Bay Area marketing professionals but also aims to create a pathway to rewarding marketing careers to those in college, looking to find their first marketing opportunity. We are looking for someone passionate about helping the next generation of marketers. This outgoing and well-organized marketing professional will help AMA SF establish and develop new relationships with local academic institutions, with the aim of promoting the AMA, membership, and looking for opportunities to foster strategic partnerships, which benefit both organizations. Graduates are the future of marketing and the future of the AMA, help us grow this important group of members.
Vice President of Hospitality (Events)
Are you an events professional who has experience managing online and in-person events with a passion for flawless execution? AMA SF is looking for a new addition to our events team, the engine of AMA SF.
If you are the kind of person who loves attention to detail, both in planning and execution, are passionate about marketing and are looking for an opportunity to add your creative flair to our events program, then we want to hear from you! This position will assist the Co-Chairs of Programming but will have primary responsibility for all event logistics. If you have experience and connections in the Bay Area events industry, this new opportunity is a great way to make new connections and give back to your community. Knowledge of Eventbrite, Zoom and other webinar platforms is a must.
Content Marketing/Blog Editor Lead
Engaging, thought leadership content featuring timely, topical insights on emerging market trends is a key part of AMA SF’s value-add to the Bay Area marketing community. It’s what our members expect, and it’s what we love to do. We are looking for someone who is passionate about content marketing but also has a critical eye. Editing is not for everyone, your ability to work with guest bloggers, help them shape their content in a way that engages the reader, and provides actionable insights is critical to this role.
You will be part of a small editorial team, generating new content ideas, fielding potential bloggers, and working with them to get their blog ready for publication. You will also work with the social media and email teams on promoting new blogs, as well as keeping a close eye on blog performance to help guide future blog strategies. While writing experience is welcome, experience editing is essential for this role.
Analytics Lead
Analytics help us understand whether we’re reaching our audiences, delivering value to both our members and sponsors, and generally keep us honest. Also, this data is used for our critical annual reports and national competitions.
You will be responsible for compiling all monthly & annual reporting, to help the chapter track KPI’s. Utilizing a well-established turnkey process, you will compile monthly reporting for approximately 10 KPIs and present results as well as insights/commentary (two templated slides) at monthly board meetings. You will also be responsible for assisting with ad hoc reporting and data gathering/analysis required for the chapter’s twice annual planning sessions, which occur at the start of, and mid-way through, the financial year. You will partner with committee leads and teams to establish and track KPI’s. As bandwidth allows, you may also be asked to gather and analyze data for ad hoc requests. Past examples include 1) identifying sources of web traffic to the Chapter’s website and % of traffic each drove, and 2) analyzing performance of membership campaigns utilizing paid social media.
Email Channel Specialist
Email is a key channel for AMA SF, allowing us to connect with our members, keep them informed about upcoming events, as well as provide relevant and useful content. As part of the Marketing Communications team, the email channel lead will manage all aspects of our email marketing, from campaign planning to execution, helping us get the most out of the channel. We are looking for someone who is creative, passionate about email marketing, and doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves. You will work across the organization to help other functions leverage email effectively, as well as keeping a close eye on email performance to help guide future email strategy. Copywriting and experience working with an online email service provider like Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Hubspot or Emma is beneficial. Good project management skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
Social Media Specialist
Maintaining and growing our social media presence is a critical function for AMA SF, allowing us to connect with our members and the greater Bay Area marketing community, helping to promote upcoming events, give greater exposure to our original content and engage with the community. As part of the Marketing Communications team, the social media specialist will help plan, originate and execute posts on our social platforms marketing, helping us get the most out of the channel. We are looking for someone who is creative, passionate about social media, and doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves. You will work across the organization to help other functions leverage email effectively, as well as keeping a close eye on email performance to help guide future email strategy. Copywriting, content generation and experience working with a social media account management platform like Buffer is beneficial. Good project management skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
