Project Open Hand is a nonprofit organization that provides nutritious meals to seniors and the critically ill. Every day, the organization prepares 2,500 meals and provides 200 bags of groceries to help sustain clients as they battle serious illnesses, isolation, or the health challenges of old age. Project Open Hand is a local organization, serving San Francisco and Alameda Counties.

Taste of the City is Project Open Hand’s annual gala, which is designed to raise funding for the various programs. The gala highlights some of the best cuisine in San Francisco, both from the apertifs served during the auction and then at the follow-on dinner where guests enjoy meals at some of San Francisco’s best restaurants.

sfAMA has partnered with Project Open Hand to set-up a volunteer for sfAMA members. Members can volunteer at one of the daily or weekly meals or at the leading events. At the Taste of the City gala, sfAMA members helped with the set-up and support for the event.

The next leading event for Project Open Hand is the Giant Race that is held in September. sfAMA members should sign-up now to secure a space volunteering or participating in the race.
